There is a special light in the eyes of the poor, their lives are limited in material possessions yet you can notice in them and feel an abundance of warmth that melts the heart, that calms the soul. The balsam to our troubled spirit and times would be the saving hand that helped the poor in their moments of need.
The poor will save you
In the picture below we can observe a similitude of lifetime lessons, which if learned and practiced will never be forgotten, for they will be eternal.
The first lesson we draw comes from the Lord facing the rich men. In my mind come the words, “Care of the poor, for your sake. The poor are already mine, for blessed are the poor in Spirit for they shall see God.” The Lord has allowed the poor to be to save the rich, for salvation comes to the children of the light, that light which came unto the world and the world received it not. He who is the breath of life.
Love or Riches?
In the reminder the Lord has unfolded in Matthew 6:21, “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” he teaches us that if we live this life to collect riches, we will do so. He reminds us to chose the right riches, and the purpose therefor.
If we love God with all our heart, everything else will fall into it’s proper place. We can do so by starting to care of the poor, the sick, the needy, the afflicted, the fatherless and the widows. As we do so, our love for God will have an ever increase, and our hearts abundance will grow to host more care and affection for those around us.
I encourage you to help us in this quest to help those in need. Our provident is small, and our means our weak, yet in our weakness we do see the face of the Lord as we do what we can to help others. I promise you that as your donate freely you will get higher returns that will bless your heart, will enrich your mind, and calm your soul.
John 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” This commandment almost seems impossible, so far distanced to achieve, yet possible for the Lord does not give us a commandment we can not keep. We can try each time a little better, every step with more love and gratefulness of all that we have.
“And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” In the book of John, chapter 17 verse 3, the Lord teaches us that to know Him and God is life eternal. What better way is there than to start helping the poor, and those in need. As we help them, an eternal light and help will aid us to overcome temptation and sin, and the fight and fury of the Lord will be kindled against our enemies, for He will fight our fights, and be our light.
